Echinodorus 'Foxtail'

Interesting and decorative species. Ideal as a specimen plant for mid-sized and larger aquaria. Compact, low and spreading growth with light green, almost yellowish leaves. Young leaves show a reddish tint. The leaf base is not separated sharply, it grows gradually out of the stem. The second image shows the submerged plant after two months. The last image shows the same plant after about 6 months in a discus tank at 27.6°C. Three of these plants, together with two Echinodorus 'Spidernet' keep the nitrate down to below 25 mg/l - with 8 discus and about 30 Thayeria boehlkei feeding in 750 liter of tank volume.
